Some glazes will want to be fused at a temperature lower than your bisque, and you can get interesting results by fusing at the higher temperature. And if you’re wondering whether you should be buying premade glazes or mixing your own, the simple answer is to do what’s right for you. Making your own has a bunch of advantages in the long run, but there are plenty of great reasons to use premade. If you want to make your own but don’t know where to start, I’ve got you covered. To provide you with an accurate quote, we'll call you to arrange a remote or home visit.

We manufacture and supply everything from PVC-u windows and smart designer doors to aluminium windows and doors and a range of other products including lanterns and roof lights. Interior glazing allows glass installation into curtain wall openings, such as windows and doors, from inside the building. In contrast, exterior glazed systems allow the glass to be installed from the curtain wall’s exterior side. We owe our constant success to our industry knowledge and ability to provide top quality products and services to our customers. Selectaglaze secondary glazing makes buildings more sustainable and improves well-being of the property users.
Choose from our range of stunning composite door glass designs to find the perfect option for your home.Fill your living space with natural light and enhance the kerb appeal of your home. Laminated glass is used where glazing must remain intact if it is broken, either for safety or security reasons. It is made by fusing two or more layers of glass with inter-layers of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) through the use of heat and pressure. If it is made using heat strengthened glass, the pane will break into large pieces but will be held in the frame by the PVB inter-layer. If it is made from tempered glass, the sheet may fall out of the frame but will mostly stay together due to the inter-layer. Glass can also be tinted to reject sunlight, coated in a translucent film to increase energy efficiency, or be self-cleaning.
Lifting glass by hand puts unnecessary stress on the pane that can lead to warping and visual defects. We assemble our units mechanically so that panes are lifted evenly using suction cups to ensure no part of the glass is placed under stress to maintain integrity and quality. We construct our units by a robot in an Argon filled chamber to ensure the only thing in our sealed unit is Argon. Other companies drill two holes into the frame and hand pump the Argon which can leave the unit filled with a mixture of air and Argon. By not drilling the frame we maintain the structural integrity and airtight seal of the frame. In the same way, when the warm air from the room meets the internal pane of glass the Argon gas slows the transfer of the warmth from the inside out.

Secondary glazing is the perfect solution, protecting your existing windows, improving their lifespan and saving up to 10% more energy than you would with traditional double glazing. With five separate product types to choose from, plus the ability to have custom-manufactured shapes, there is no limit to the aesthetic capabilities of our secondary glazing. Whatever your style of existing window, there is a secondary glazing solution to match.
This is used as a safety glass, as it shatters into small granular pieces rather than sharp shards, reducing the risk of injury. This is a piece of float glass that has been cooled in a slow and bow window installation controlled manner. The internal stresses within the sheet of glass are reduced by this process making the resulting glass stronger and less likely to break than it would otherwise be.
We are inspired by light-filled, quiet and comfortable rooms that also let the views in. We at Granada design and manufacture affordable secondary glazing products that support this vision. Secondary glazing also acts as a visual deterrent and additional barrier to entry. We use toughened glass and best-grade aluminium profile to manufacture windows that are virtually unbreakable. No need for unsightly measures that will affect the value of your property. Thanks to secondary glazing, our customers can enjoy a warmer, home secure home, without damaging their existing décor.

It’s generally cheaper than replacing windows with double glazing and can lead to energy savings by reducing heat loss, which lowers heating bills. Additionally, secondary shop front glazing is highly effective for soundproofing, making it valuable for those living in noisy areas like city centers or near airports. It’s also a practical option for heritage or listed buildings, where altering the original windows isn’t allowed. Secondary glazing involves adding a movable second layer of glass or plastic to the frame of existing single glazed units. Installed on the window’s interior, it’s fully independent and doesn’t form a sealed unit like double glazed windows.

It can significantly impact factors such as comfort, warmth, energy efficiency and security. Listed Building Consent is required for installation of new double-glazed windows. So the answer to the original question is, it is possible to improve thermal performance if IGU by moving to triple glazing. With energy costs rising by double digit percentages year on year, it is a calculation that should be seriously considered. The first thing you need to do when looking to replace double-glazed windows is to measure the size you need, which is probably quite a bit easier than you might have thought.
