This is used as a safety glass, as it shatters into small granular pieces rather than sharp shards, reducing the risk of injury. This is a piece of float glass that has been cooled in a slow and controlled manner. The internal stresses within the sheet of glass are reduced by this process making safe glazing the resulting glass stronger and less likely to break than it would otherwise be.

Silver coating must be enclosed within the glazing unit so that oxidation doesn't cause the degradation of the silver over time. With hundreds of options to choose from, Everest windows are designed to meet your needs. We use the best components to make quality windows that look good with attention to detail. At the core of everything we do, we're committed to developing the most energy efficient windows on the market with the lowest U-values in the UK. For large windows, such as 1200mm x 1200mm or bigger, you can place a couple of screws immediately below the secondary glazing panel to add support and prevent the chance of it slipping or detaching.

Dipping time on it’s own is a fairly meaningless number, especially when comparing your application and results to someone else’s. If you’re going to pay attention to one number when testing glazes, weight of application is the one to track. Manufacturer’s backed guarantee for all drained and vented glazing units. Window U-values will need to be reduced from 1.2 W/m²K to 0.8 W/m²K, while doors (where more than 60% glazed) must achieve 1.0 W/m²K, down from the current 1.2 W/m²K.

It will probably change other aspects of the behaviour too, so treat it as an entirely new glaze if you do this. Glazing is my favourite part of the process (by which I mean developing and testing glazes, the actual dipping and pouring is less interesting) but I know a lot of potters dread it. It’s understandable, it’s the final stage in a long process and can easily ruin weeks of work. There’s no magic cure for that, ceramics can be harsh and unforgiving, but there are ways to make the most of your glazes. Following public consultation, a National Building Specification has been developed, setting out more stringent requirements for thermal performance.

The Window Energy Ratings (WER) is a scale developed by the British Fenestration Ratings Council (BFRC) to measure the thermal performance of windows. The BFRC label indicates the rating of the window on a scale running from A+ (the most energy efficient) to G (the least efficient). The term 'glazing' refers to the glass component of building's façade or internal surfaces.

Firstly, the amount of money you stand to save, and the amount of energy you’ll be able to hold off from using, will depend largely on the size of your property, and how much energy you usually use. Along with fear-inducing hard-sell marketing ploys about how inefficient your home currently is, the antics of such companies and individuals have given double glazing an undeservedly poor reputation. Planitherm Comfort and Comfort Plus glass both include a special layer that's harder to break.
