Jesse and Mel won The Block's living and dining room reveals on Sunday night.
And although the -based couple were delighted to top the leader board  with 29 points, it was a bittersweet success following a controversial week.
During the renovation, the pair were accused by co-stars Mitch and Mark of copying their designs from the nearby Saint Moritz development.
However, Jesse later hit back, stating they simply 'took inspiration' from it.

Jesse and Mel: 29 points
The couple's previous wins put them ahead for living and dining room week with additional finances at their disposal.
And the extra cash seemed to go a long way, with Darren Palmer claiming the couple had created 'the best layout on The Block' before they won this week's reveals.
'It's the only living space we've been into which, tellingly, we're sitting down in,' he added, as the three judges relaxed on the sofa.
Compliment!

Judge Darren Palmer claimed Jesse and Mel had created 'the best layout on The Block' before they won this week's reveals with 29 points

Shaynna Blaze later marveled at the execution of the 'phenomenal' flooring, which Jesse laid himself during the week.
Although Neale Whitaker had questioned 'where's St Kilda?' in the design, he praised the 'corporate look' which he believes will appeal to the suburb's new target buyer.

Andy and Deb: 28 points
Deb doubted the couple's efforts were enough to secure them a win, after she 'pulled back on the styling' and 'kept things fairly simple' this week.
But as the judges entered the space, they couldn't wipe the smiles off their faces at what they called a 'magnificent' and light room.
'I can't remember ever being in a house on The Block that has excited me more,' said Neale, while gushing over the 'professional' space and colour palette.
The judges were disappointed with the height of the couple's television though.

El'ise and Matt: 24.5 points
'I feel like it is our time to shine,' said El'ise before the judging began.
And Neale appeared to agree, praising how the trendy space, with exposed brick and rich colours, complemented the kitchen.
'I think the reason I like it is because it's feel like home,' he said.
Despite enjoying the retro vibe, Darren found fault with the placement of the fireplace, which had no seats centered around it.

Mitch and Mark: 22 points
The stylish couple declared they'd had a 'tumultuous week of highs and lows'.
And the wide range of emotions did not stop as the judges inspected what they believed was 'the best' living and dining space on the show.
Although they were initially praised for their 'mid-century styling', table setting and white brick detail of the fireplace, there were plenty of negatives.
'I'm not quite sure where my eye wants to land.

It is kind of an assault on the senses,' questioned Neale.
Shaynna questioned: 'I'm looking at the artwork and does that floral piece go with the Palm Springs [vibe]? What were they thinking.'

Tess and Luke: 22 points
The couple started the episode feeling confident, with Tess remarking: 'I think we've done a good job!
I love the colour scheme, furniture and I think the layout works.'
Upon inspecting, the judges were impressed, with Neal gushing how the space is 'stylistically consistent' with the joining kitchen.
However, the couple were criticised over their decision to push their large dining table up to their sizable kitchen island - creating plenty of 'dead space'.
'Attaching the table has made the storage under the island unusable,' added Neale, who later described the space as 'heavy' and 'oppressive'.
