What is a mole?

A common mole, or naevi, is a coloured spot on the skin that develops when pigment cells called melanocytes grow in clusters. Although common moles may be present at birth, they appear later in and during teenage years – most adults usually have between 10 and 40 on their body. How to best look after your moles

Sun exposure is the main cause of skin cancers, so protecting your skin from the sun is crucial for skin health. advise to avoid direct sun exposure between 11am and 3pm on sunny days, and to wear clothing in addition to using regularly.
